Sharon McClelland – RN, Credentialled Diabetes Educator

Sharon is a Registered Nurse and Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE) with more than 15 years of experience supporting people living with diabetes and people with pre-diabetes. CDEs are health professionals recognised by the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) for their expertise in helping people understand and manage diabetes with confidence.

Sharon has worked in diabetes education across hospitals, community health and general practice in Victoria and Sydney. She is passionate about helping people better understand their diabetes and providing practical support that fits into their everyday lives.

Sharon’s areas of interest include:

  • Supporting people with pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes
  • Ongoing education and support for people living with type 1 diabetes
  • Blood sugar (glucose) monitoring and understanding what the results mean
  • Education and support with continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology
  • Healthy eating, physical activity and lifestyle changes
  • Diabetes medications and support with treatment decisions
  • Insulin and diabetes injections
  • Preventing and managing low blood glucose levels (hypos)
  • Helping people build the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage their diabetes day to day

Anne Buso - Dietitian

Anne Graduated with Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics from Deakin University and has worked in private practice for the past 24 years, providing nutritional support for the Geelong Community.

Anne has experience in Clinical Nutrition, Corporate Nutrition, aged care and community health.

Anne consults to Barwon Sports Academy and has a special interest in Diabetes, Food Allergies and Intolerances, Sports Nutrition and PCOS.

Professor Geoffrey Nicholson - Endocrinologist

Professor Geoffrey Nicholson is an Endocrinologist treating people with a range of conditions that are caused by problems with hormones including diabetes, thyroid disorders and menopausal symptoms.

Bruce Cohen - Physiotherapist

Bruce is an experienced physiotherapist who treats people with a range of conditions. He completed his physiotherapy degree at La Trobe University in 1998 and has practiced in clinics and hospitals throughout regional Victoria and Australia.

He welcomes all new patients and will happily take on any physiotherapy issue, whether simple or complex, ranging from young children and families to the elderly. This variety is part of what he loves about his job. He is an enthusiastic practitioner with a relaxed manner and holistic approach and is an Australian Physiotherapy Association Member.

Bruce offers physiotherapy for all types of injuries and rehabilitation, including:
