At Corio Medical Clinic, we offer a dedicated diabetes service to support people living with diabetes and those at risk of developing diabetes. Our team works together to help you understand your condition, manage your health, and make informed decisions about your care.

Depending on your individual needs, you may receive support from our endocrinologist, diabetes educator, dietitian, podiatrist, physiotherapist and psychologist. Working alongside your GP, our team provides personalised care to help you achieve your health goals and live well with diabetes.

Our diabetes team can support you with:

• Understanding pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes, including what a diagnosis means and how to manage it day to day.
• Ongoing education and support for people living with type 1 diabetes.
• Learning how to monitor and understand your blood glucose levels.
• Advice on healthy eating, physical activity and lifestyle changes to support diabetes management.
• Information about diabetes medications, including how and when to take them safely.
• Support with insulin and other injectable diabetes medications, including safe administration and storage.
• Strategies to prevent, recognise and manage hypoglycaemia (low blood glucose levels).
• Sick day management and planning for situations that may affect your diabetes control.
• Reducing the risk of diabetes-related complications through regular monitoring and preventive care.
